Advisory Council

As the technology competition with countries of particular concern has become increasingly serious from the strategic viewpoint, it becomes more important than ever to explore and share the strategic plan among the like-minded countries, I am very honored to contribute to developing the strategy on how Japan and its allies should meet this challenge as a Commissioner for Japan of the Global Tech Security Commission.

Technology should be used to improve the quality of our lives and better our world. Mission of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue embraces that fundamental, and yet important concept. I am honored to contribute to the work of the Institute by serving on its Advisory Council.

In the wake of enactment of my CHIPS and Science Act and as we continue to counter the Chinese Communist Party, it is more important than ever to bring together stakeholders on key technology issues to facilitate research and recommendations that advance our economic and national security.

The interconnectivity of advanced data and media ecosystems has created a new global threat to democracies. While these ecosystems are often used to further prosperity and economic freedom, they are also abused for surveillance, malign influence and funding of attacks on democracy. The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy plays a pivotal role in illuminating these issues and convening architects for solutions across borders.

Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue and Global Tech Security Commission plays a critical, bi-partisan role in challenging and defeating the Chinese Communist Party’s dictatorship that is greatly enabled and empowered by modern technologies and sophisticated tools of repression and aggression.
