JERUSALEM, ISRAEL, March 26, 2025 – Today, Members of the Knesset representing diverse political parties, joined by the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue University, the world’s preeminent trusted technology accelerator, announced the official launch of the Trusted Tech Caucus in Israel.

The Trusted Tech Caucus, comprising a group of multi-party legislators, will work together to ensure Israeli citizens, businesses, and national security benefit from transformational technological advances and are defended from the weaponization of technology by authoritarian regimes and criminal actors. Trusted Tech Caucus members, supported by the Krach Institute’s global network of experts, will meet regularly to strategize, develop solutions, hold hearings, and become a source of knowledge in this realm for other Knesset Members.

The announcement is part of the Krach Institute’s broader effort to build a Global Trusted Tech Network of like-minded government, business, and citizen leaders committed to trusted technology. Israel’s Trusted Tech Caucus will be integrated into a broader international network of legislative groups focused on trusted technology, including similar caucuses across the free world. This network will facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing on how like-minded countries utilize advanced technologies for freedom.

MK Gila Gamliel, Israel’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, and Len Khodorkovsky, former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Krach Institute, joined the Trusted Tech Caucus Co-Chairs MK Ron Katz (Yesh Atid) and MK Dan Illouz (Likud) for the launch of this legislative working group focused on the importance of the innovation, deployment, and adoption of trusted technology in Israel and beyond.

“The October 7 attack was a stark reminder of the fragility of freedom and the urgency of deploying the technologies of the future to preserve that precious freedom,” said Len Khodorkovsky. “Israel has long been recognized as a global technological powerhouse and a critical node in the Global Trusted Tech Network. The formation of the Trusted Tech Caucus in the Knesset is an important step by Israel’s legislators to work together—and with the country’s innovators—to develop policies that optimize Israel’s technological leadership.”

“As the Startup Nation and a vibrant democracy, Israel has always been at the forefront of creating technology that serves humanity,” said Minister Gila Gamliel. “With the establishment of the Trusted Tech Caucus, lawmakers in Israel are demonstrating their commitment to unleashing the technologies of the future to expand economic opportunities, strengthen national security, and advance freedom. I commend the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue for leading this worthy initiative and look forward to working with other democracies, starting with the United States, on this critical issue.”

“In today’s world, the future of freedom depends on the choices we make about technology. As we push the boundaries of innovation, we must also protect the values that bind us together: trust, safety and democracy,” said MK Ron Katz, Co-Chair of the Trusted Tech Caucus. “Israel has a responsibility not only to lead in tech, but to lead with integrity, for the sake of all our futures.”

“We are enormously proud of Israel’s technological achievements. Israel’s tech is trusted tech that has improved people’s lives far beyond our borders, said MK Dan Illouz, Co-Chair of the Trusted Tech Caucus. “These breakthroughs are an all-of-society effort. We, as lawmakers, also have a role to play. The Trusted Tech Caucus in the Knesset will partner with other legislators, experts, and entrepreneurs in Israel as well as parliamentary groups in the free world to advance prosperity and freedom.”

As part of its ongoing support of the caucus, the Krach Institute will provide training to Knesset members through its Tech Diplomacy Academy, the world’s first and only online education platform in this critical field. Among its adopters are the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce, NATO, and major private sector companies now educating their personnel on the intersection of tech, business, and policy.

“A hundred years ago it was the sea: whoever ruled it, ruled the world. Today it is the data,” said Yigal Unna, former Director General of Israel National Cyber Directorate and member of the Global Trusted Tech (xGTT) Standard Board of Governors. “The formation of the Trusted Tech Caucus in Israel is an important step for the country to play a meaningful role in making sure the data is free and open for everyone, allowing no one to control it.”
