Henry Stoever is the President and CEO of the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) which empowers its 40,000 members who serve on the boards of more than 1,300 colleges, universities, and institutionally related foundations to govern with knowledge and confidence. Henry is one of the leading champions of strategic, consequential board governance focused on student success and long-term institutional vitality. Prior to joining AGB in July of 2019, Henry spent 10 years at the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) where he oversaw marketing, partner relations, and board-development teams that provided strategic insights on issues shaping board agendas.
Earlier in his career, Henry led marketing and communications teams as the Senior Vice President for StudentLoans.com; Vice President of Marketing for the CoStar Group; Senior Director of Industry Marketing at Nextel Communications (now Sprint Communications); Director of Marketing, Communications and Business Development at LexisNexis; and as a brand manager at Kraft Foods.
After graduating from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in economics, Henry served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer. Subsequently, he earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Henry serves on boards of the United States Naval Academy, the United Arab Emirates University, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, and Cycurion – a cybersecurity company.
I applaud the commission’s focused mission to develop a global tech security strategy designed to rally and unify like-minded countries, leverage the innovation and resources of the private sector, and build a global network to develop, protect, and adopt trusted technologies.
