Miles Yu served as the senior China Policy and Planning adviser to the U.S. Secretary of State, 2019-2021 in the Trump Administration. He is a senior fellow and director of the China Center at Hudson Institute, the Robert Alexander Mercer Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, and a senior fellow at the Institute of Project 2049. He is also a professor of East Asia and military and naval history at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Dr. Yu specializes in Chinese military and strategic culture, US and Chinese military and diplomatic history, and US policy toward China.
