Ambassador Adam Ereli is the founder and CEO of IberoAmerican Consultants, a strategic advisory firm that counsels governments, the private sector and non-profits on policy formulation, communications and business development in the United States, Middle East and South Asia. Ambassador Ereli retired from the U.S. State Department in 2013, after 24 years as a Foreign Service Officer. During this time, he served as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain (2007-2011), Deputy State Department Spokesman (2003-2006) and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs (2011-2013), in addition to postings in Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Qatar and Iraq. From 2013-2016, he was Vice Chairman of Mercury Public Affairs, where he led the firm’s international practice and represented large corporate and sovereign accounts, including the governments of Nigeria, Uganda, Japan and Qatar. Ambassador Ereli appears regularly as a foreign affairs commentator on Fox News, Bloomberg TV, BBC, CNN, Al Arabiya and Sky News Arabia. His opinion pieces have been published in The Wall Street Journal, Politico, Foreign Policy, U.S. Today, and Forbes. Adam has a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He speaks French and Arabic.
