The World’s Preeminent Trusted Tech Accelerator Poised for Growth
with Addition of Nonprofit Fundraising Leader
WEST LAFAYETTE, IN & WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Michelle Powers Keegan as Chief Revenue Officer, effective December 2, 2024. With over two decades of experience leading nonprofit revenue generation, fundraising and strategic partnerships, Keegan brings a proven track record of driving exponential growth for mission-driven, high-impact organizations, having raised more than $350 million over the course of her career. Since 2019, Keegan has served as Chief Development Officer at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. In her previous role as Chief Development Officer at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), she ran the largest campaign in CSIS history, raising $75 million, and as Director of Development at Ford’s Theatre, she raised more than $50 million for the most comprehensive renovation effort in its history.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Keegan will be responsible for driving the Krach Institute’s growth and integration of all revenue generation processes. The addition of Keegan to the Institute’s leadership team comes as the organization is poised for rapid growth. Earlier this year, the Krach Institute unveiled its Tech Diplomacy Academy, the world’s first and only online education platform revolutionizing how government, business, and citizen leaders are trained at scale about critical and emerging technologies. The U.S. State Department has already adopted the platform to train key personnel.
In her role, Keegan will also support the Global Tech Security Commission, created by The Krach Institute in response to the bipartisan call from Congress to secure critical and emerging technologies. Co-chaired by the Institute’s co-founder Keith Krach and former President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, the Commission comprises a global network of more than 200 public- and private-sector experts generating strategic and executable recommendations to advance freedom through trusted technology in the face of increasing authoritarian threats.
“Our team has established the Krach Institute as the global leader in Tech Diplomacy. We are moving at the speed of tech, and I am proud that we have earned the trust of decision-makers around the world as the go-to authority in this incredibly important field in such a short amount of time,” said Keith Krach, Chairman and Co-Founder of the Institute. “Michelle Keegan’s impressive track record and strategic vision make her the perfect addition to our team at the perfect time. As Chief Revenue Officer, she will be instrumental in helping the Institute realize the full potential of its noble mission.”
“Technology has the power to transform lives, enhance prosperity, and bolster national and international security. Michelle’s extensive record of success will be an invaluable asset to the Krach Institute as our ambition to deliver consequential impact continues to grow,” said Michelle Giuda, Chief Executive Officer of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. “With Michelle’s addition to our leadership team, we are well positioned to accelerate our growth, our impact and our mission to advance freedom through trusted technology.”
“The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue stands as a new beacon of innovation and thought leadership at one of the most critical intersections of our time. In an era where technology profoundly influences every aspect of our lives, the Institute’s unwavering dedication to rallying and unifying partners and allies around trusted technologies is not only essential but inspiring,” said Michelle Keegan. “Under the exceptional leadership of the Krach Institute, the United States and its allies are uniquely positioned to lead the global conversation on the transformative implications of technology for freedom and security. I am truly excited to collaborate with this remarkable team of public and private-sector leaders to advance these vital principles and to drive forward initiatives that advocate for the ethical development and use of technology worldwide. The Krach Institute is a trailblazer, and I look forward to helping ensure its impact will resonate for generations to come.”
Keegan has also previously served as Chief Development Officer at the ALS Association and was the Director of Major Gifts at the national headquarters of Volunteers of America where she managed a national partnership with the Major League Baseball Players Association.
She succeeds the Krach Institute’s founding CRO Marc Carlson, who will continue to serve on the Institute’s Board of Directors and as a Senior Advisor. During his 38-year career in high-growth robotics, mechanical design, business systems automation, digital transformation management, multi-asset process automation and data flow automation, Carlson has helped create over $80 billion in market value. As a Senior Advisor in the U.S. Department of State, Carlson played a crucial role in building the Clean Network Alliance of Democracies.
