New online courses, developed with the Acorn Leadership Institute, empower leaders to apply
technology, business, and diplomacy know-how in service of allied freedom, security, and prosperity

Washington, D.C. — The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue announced today the launch of the Transformational Leadership for Tech Diplomacy Series, a new set of online courses within the Institute’s Tech Diplomacy Academy that strengthens how professionals, policymakers and students lead in an era defined by emerging and critical technologies.

The Tech Diplomacy Academy is the world’s first online education platform dedicated to training leaders at the intersection of technology, business, and diplomacy. It is used by a growing roster of U.S. and allied governments and companies across 33 countries, including the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, and NATO’s Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIANA). Its one-hour, self-paced courses deliver practical knowledge on AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and quantum computing, and offer interactive content, playbooks, and certificates from the Krach Institute and Purdue University in the new field of Tech Diplomacy.

This new Leadership Series, developed in collaboration with the Acorn Leadership Institute, a subsidiary of the Sigma Chi Leadership Institute, adds the essential leadership layer to the existing technical and strategic training, helping learners apply what they know, build trust, and lead teams that can innovate and act at speed to secure freedom, prosperity and security.

The series includes:

  • Transformational Leadership for Tech Diplomacy (SELF), grounding leaders in core values and purpose;
  • The Power of Trust for Transformation (OTHERS), building trusted partnerships and communicating with clarity and credibility;
  • Fueling Innovation (ACTION), cultivating an innovative mindset and leading adaptable, high-performing teams;
  • Adopting a Diplomatic Approach (COMMUNITY), designing action plans and trust doctrines to guide leadership in complex environments.

Together, these courses help leaders connect how technology works with how leadership works so innovation advances freedom and strengthens America’s and its allies’ security and prosperity.

“We built the Tech Diplomacy Academy to give leaders the tech, business, and diplomacy know-how they need to make high-impact decisions,” said Michelle Giuda, CEO of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. “This new leadership series adds the mindset and skills to apply that knowledge effectively so leaders can harness innovation in ways that strengthen freedom, security, and shared prosperity.”
