Director, Hakluyt & Co

Mariah Sixkiller is a Director at Hakluyt & Co, a strategic consulting firm based in London.  She works in the San Francisco office and specializes in tech policy and regulatory advisory services for corporate and investor clients. Before joining Hakluyt in 2023, Mariah was the General Manager for Strategy in Microsoft’s US Department of Defense business. She also served as Director of Government Relations for Microsoft’s National Security Government Affairs team, focusing on public policy related to cloud, AI, quantum, and national security matters.

Mariah previously ran her own consulting firm in Washington, DC, advising clients in the defense and technology sectors. Before that, she spent 15 years working for the US Government, including in roles as National Security Advisor to the Majority Leader/Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, an advisor to two Senators, and a Special Assistant at the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Although she resides on the West Coast, Mariah maintains ties to DC. She served as a 2024 National Defense Strategy Commissioner and is an Emeritus Board Member of the Military Women’s Memorial Foundation.
