When disaster strikes, people make gut-wrenching decisions about what few items to take as they flee. It’s always a no-win choice, often followed by deep regret.
As someone who has worked in multiple warzones and responded to major natural disasters, I have seen firsthand the motions and emotions as you navigate from survival to steady state to rebuild.
In the military and UN, we were taught to have a “go-bag,” which had all the critical elements you needed to survive. Admittedly, I had that, but multiple times, in moments of chaos, I also found myself scrambling for the last document, passport, wallet, or other critical resource or piece of information.
