For just about any business trust is critical and perhaps even more so for nonprofits, since you rely often on community support for sustainability. What do you think are the three most crucial things a leader can do to build trust?

Follow through, say what you do and do what you say kind of approach is pretty critical. But that whole follow through the not-for-profit sector is often viewed as less efficient than the for-profit sector. And that's not been my experience with the social enterprise organizations I've been a part of. I think communication is always, always important communicating to your stakeholders in a way that is open and honest and effective. And then I guess, team engagement is always the important part. Nothing happens without the people. So I put those as least three big ones.
