As a leader, how do you keep everyone feeling connected? How did you do it before the pandemic and has it evolved or changed during the pandemic?

Well, given our culture, a big part of our framework is communication, so there is constant communication, not only the feedback that we give but also creating the forums where we can get the team together and really share what's going on in the business, solicit ideas, and so we've done even before the pandemic, we do a biweekly townhall that involves every single employee of the company where we talk about what's going on in the company, we'll also have fun. I mean, some of those townhalls, we'll do dance parties, we'll have different ways for people feeling connected in what's going on in the business.

Yup, I do. It's embarrassing, they sometimes record it and I cringe when I see myself, but I think it's important to our culture that we are constantly sharing, and I actually think those townhalls have gotten better in the pandemic because they're on Zoom and everyone gets their own 2x2 inch time, and the chatbox goes crazy, and the level of engagement is incredible, but beyond the townhalls, I'd say, I send a weekly email to every one of our employees where I talk about themes of what's going on both in the business as well as what I'm seeing broader, to elicit kind of people to respond back and give their thoughts. We have also some of the rituals, we keep the team connected including our LinkedIn page, our e.l.f Beauty LinkedIn page often talks about what's going on in the company, what are we doing? What is our stance on different social issues? And they're all different forms to make sure people feel both connected as well as having their voices heard.
