DocuSign has an impact foundation your nonprofit arm and the impact Foundation donated half a million dollars to the Jane Goodall Foundation a wonderful contribution but you took it a step even further and you matched that by another five hundred thousand dollars out of your own personal funds and so that brought the total donation up to 1 million why is this so important to you obviously professionally but why so personally?

Well, you know I have kids. I aspire to have grandkids and you know like so many of us in the last 10 years I've come to the realization that we have a big global warming problem and climate change I could tell everyone they say what are the things that concern you in the world I have two huge issues one's environmental and one's economic its global warming and it's income inequality and I'm trying to put a lot of focus I can on each of those issues I actually had created a philanthropic fund years ago with my sons and I want to teach them about philanthropy and get them involved and my goal is to take whatever you know wealth I amass and have them have to give it away for the rest of their lives so expecting people that help others are happier so the thing a best gift I think I can give to my kids is an opportunity to help other people so they'll feel you know feel good.

Thuy

What a wonderful gift to give them.

Yeah, when they were little and we started they didn't always think of it as a gift it work work when they were young.

Thuy

But even the work of figuring out because there's so many interesting things to do you know so many organizations you can help it's work it is actually I know it sounds terrible because that it is working we giveaways yes money and so those are the kind of areas we've been focused on and with Jane, I mean--

Thuy

Jane Goodall is amazing and and the inspiration she provides you know to so many it's just all and you know she's um she's 85 she's actually she was here about two months ago she had breakfast she came here for breakfast got chance to connect again and work on some new initiatives we have but she's traveling 300 days a year.

And she is going strong all the way so it's it's such an inspiration and when she talked about what she wanted to do with this new you know starting we were the first people to start the Jane Goodall Legacy Foundation yeah on top of the work of the Jane Goodall Institute's I just got inspired by it and I think some of it was the power of Jane got me motivated to do it and some was the conviction that this was gonna be a game-changing organization and you know we have some money in the philanthropic fund and this was one to to get behind.
