Reflecting on all the decisions you have made as a leader, there have been many, what’s helped you the most to be successful through the decision-making process?

I think always being critical of yourself. And it’s a hard thing, I’m never satisfied, but I’m a happy person. And that’s an interesting approach in life. But I always want more. Not because I want more things, I just want more efficiency in the world. I want people to have more time, more balance, more passion. And so if you’re on any of the internal Slack channels for product ideas, there’s always new ideas coming and some of them are, you know, I don’t tell people what to do. I say, here are some ideas, you figure out if the customer really needs that or not. You have to be critical and be willing to accept that you don’t do everything well.

What you do well, is that you are learning well, and I think that is probably an area that is super important for me is that if I define success, and I do define success by growing and being a better leader, then it’s okay if I actually screw a few things up, because that’s the whole point. That’s how you learn. And so that willingness to engage in that is super important.
