I want to also kind of take a step back and talk about when you were first starting out in your career and the journey. Tell me about one big mistake you made when you started your career in finance and how did you overcome it?

I think I didn't take enough risk, even though in hindsight, I did take a lot of risk. I would say for a young new executive starting out, going to a startup, kind of trying to learn all aspects of the business rather than working for a very large organization, because in a large firm, you're locked into one role. Whereas if you're in a startup, you're doing all kinds of things, you're learning much more. You could always move from a startup to a large firm. It's very hard to move from a large firm to a startup because it's a different mindset. So in hindsight, I should have taken more risk and joined smaller firms initially. But, I was lucky, I took the right decisions and finally got where I am today.

Conversely, talk about one thing that you're glad that you did right.

Well, I what I did right, I guess, is marry my wife. And I say this quite honestly, because having a partner that is supportive in your decisions, even though they're business decisions that are happening outside the home, having somebody to bounce ideas off or be supportive. I always say she's smarter than me and she's my life partner.
