What would you say are some of the strategies or lessons that you learned from that time, about how to continue to lead through change that you would pass on to other leaders?

You know, crisis management, which is, I would classify this under crisis management. So, strategies would be, find the right people, and not too many cooks in the kitchen though. Everybody’s going to have an opinion during crises, by the way. It’s like somebody going through a tough time in their life, everybody’s at them, right?

So, just like in a company, every CEO is going to get all this inbound advice, if you’re in crisis. So, find the right people, and narrow it, and have a very focused group of people that are like your SWAT team, that’s going to help you.

Number two is figure out what is the most important? The thing about crises is that, you figure out your priorities right away. So, for me, you cut the fat, so I cut a lot of fat in the company. We got a rid of a lot of things that were not very profitable, or certain people that weren’t great leaders, but we were holding onto them, because we had a big team. But when we had a small team, a nimble team, go after your top first. So, we got to kind of pick who are our rebuilding team is.
