And I think you just brought up a really important point too and sometimes mentees miss this because I’ve had mentees who just kind of fell off the face of the planet after I invested some time into helping them, is that you as the mentee have great responsibility in maintaining the relationship? And so, it looks like in your case, you took that responsibility seriously, reached out to them and followed up on you know, “Thank you for the advice, here’s what I did do.”

Yeah, I think that I’m sure that everyone watching this has heard networking, networking is one of the most impactful, underrated things you can do from early in your career all the way to the end of your career. And I couldn’t agree more.
It is, I think you should make it part of your job. 5% of your week every week should be reaching out, strengthening the relationships of people you work with and the people outside and just build your community. Because life is hard, work can get hard, careers are hard, especially if you’re paving your own way. The stronger your community of people who understand what you want and what you’re going for, the more they’re going to help you.
And it’s very lonely without that network so you make it part of your job, you’ll actually do it. If you kind of put it off to the side and say, “Well, when I have time,” you’re never going to have time. No one has extra time.
