Maintaining a Great Network

I feel like you never know what’s going to come, and the thing you have to do is just always stay on the balls of your feet and be prepared. Because no matter how successful a company is, or how well things are going, things can change in a second, you know? A snap of a finger.
When I was at a company that was not doing well, a lot of employees were leaving to go to larger companies. But there’s no security in larger companies either. Many of them do large layoffs or riffs, and there is no security. I mean, really, I think the best security you can have for yourself is to keep your skills sharp, and maintain a great network.
And it doesn’t have to be that you go out and shake hands and do coffees all the time, but have a good group of trusted people, who know your work, and who are willing to vouch for you, or to hire you.
