Tech Diplomacy 2040 Event Report: Tech Diplomacy is Now
09.30.25

This new report—developed with the input and expertise of participants and panelists from our Tech Diplomacy 2040 event held in partnership with Guidehouse—lays out a comprehensive blueprint for how governments, industry, and academia can:
- Embed digital and AI literacy into K-12 through higher education
- Institutionalize tech proficiency across government and national security
- Attract and retain global STEM talent
- Mobilize alliances to set democratic standards and safeguard critical supply chains, including critical minerals
- Scale trusted technologies through joint ventures, financing mechanisms, and cross-border R&D
This report is not the conclusion—it is a starting point. Advancing trusted technology will require sustained collaboration across governments, industry, academia, and civil society. At the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue, we are building the platforms to make that collaboration possible: the Tech Diplomacy Academy, which equips leaders at every level with the skills to integrate technology into diplomacy and governance, and the Global Trusted Tech Standard, which establishes principles-based benchmarks for secure, democratic innovation. We invite partners worldwide to engage with us in these efforts and join in shaping a future where technology advances freedom, prosperity, and security.
