WEST LAFAYETTE, IN and WASHINGTON, DC – The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue today announced the creation of the Next Generation Tech Diplomacy Leaders Program following the acquisition of the Global Mentor Network (GMN), the world’s leading virtual mentor network. The Institute’s next gen program combines scholarships, fellowships, internships, virtual mentorship, leadership training and lecture series into an integrated platform to accelerate the development of tomorrow’s transformational Tech Diplomacy leaders.

As the preeminent global authority on Tech Diplomacy, the Institute will leverage GMN’s virtual mentorship approach with its extensive network of public and private sector transformational leaders to empower emerging leaders in the practice of Tech Diplomacy. GMN enables its mentors to share their real-world insights widely and efficiently online, reaching thousands of aspiring leaders and making it possible to build leaders through mentorship at scale. Through this platform, the Institute will be able to expand and democratize the process of building skills required to succeed in the field of Tech Diplomacy, which integrates tech expertise, Silicon Valley strategies and foreign policy tools to accelerate the adoption of trusted technology.

“GMN was founded with the belief that trusted transformational leadership is the key to solving the world’s pressing challenges, and that mentorship is the most effective path to becoming such a leader,” said GMN Founder Keith Krach and Chairman of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. “Recognizing the scarcity of leaders available for mentorship and the value of learning from multiple mentors, GMN pioneered the concept of virtual mentorship. As a result, GMN has been able to achieve global scale and attract some of the most respected transformational leaders as mentors. By integrating the Global Mentor Network into the Institute’s next gen program, we aim to lead the way on cultivating the next generation of tech diplomacy leaders and harness the powerful synergy of two trusted networks.

The Tech Diplomacy Lecture Series aims to host renowned global multi-sector experts at Purdue’s campus to engage emerging leaders across various academic disciplines. The lectures are intended to foster a deeper understanding the critical importance of trusted technology in advancing freedom and inspire the next generation of transformational leaders to pursue careers in this field.

To this end, the Tech Diplomacy Scholar Program will grant scholarships to outstanding student leaders at Purdue who exhibit transformational leadership qualities and a commitment to advancing freedom. These scholars will have the opportunity to participate in Tech Diplomacy training and leadership development programs and will also be eligible for the Institute’s summer internship.

The Institute’s Next Gen Fellows Program will provide internships to exceptional recent graduates from leading universities who have demonstrated outstanding transformational leadership abilities and possess a strong desire to pursue a career in Tech Diplomacy. These fellows will engage in mentorship and project opportunities with the Institute, enabling them to build skills, experience, and expertise in Tech Diplomacy. The Institute believes that by investing in the next generation of Tech Diplomacy leaders, it will contribute to the advancement of freedom worldwide through the use of trusted technology.

“The mission to ensure that technology advances freedom is a long-term endeavor. Our adversaries are playing the long-game, and the work to build and empower the next generation of Tech Diplomacy leaders must begin now,” said Michelle Giuda, Director of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. “With the acquisition of the Global Mentor Network with the Krach Institute, our message to freedom-loving students and those just starting their careers is this: We want you to come learn, train and be a part of the Global Tech Trust Network with us and all of our partners and allies around the world.”

“The Global Mentor Network builds leaders who ensure that change benefits all, who harness diversity of thought to solve complex problems, who are committed to values-based leadership, and can unite and mobilize people to achieve noble causes,” said GMN CEO Thuy Vu, a seven-time Emmy winner and recipient of a prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for in-depth journalism, whose storytelling skills bring leadership lessons to life.
