30,000+ SIG University Learners to Gain Critical Skills in Tech, Policy and Risk Management
Washington, DC, May 14, 2025 — The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue today announced a strategic partnership with the Sourcing Industry Group (SIG) and its certification arm, SIG University, a globally-recognized provider of professional training for sourcing, procurement and risk management leaders. Through this collaboration, SIG University will provide its 30,000+ global membership with preferred access to the Krach Institute’s Tech Diplomacy Academy, a first-of-its-kind, scalable online education platform designed to equip professionals at the intersection of technology, business, policy and global commerce.
Beginning later this spring, SIG members will gain access to the Tech Diplomacy Academy’s 20+ on-demand, one-hour online courses covering emerging technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, 5G, semiconductors and quantum computing. Built on the engineering leadership of Purdue University, the platform is designed for non-technical professionals and provides practical tools to lead with greater foresight and resilience amid technological disruption and geopolitical uncertainty. Participants will also earn certificates of completion from the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue.
“Sourcing professionals are on the front lines of national security and economic competition. Their decisions shape supply chain resilience, technology adoption and strategic advantage across borders,” said Michelle Giuda, CEO of the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. “By partnering with SIG University, we’re empowering these leaders with the insight and fluency needed to lead in today’s high-stakes environment. SIG’s leadership in embracing this mission reflects a clear understanding: procurement is not just operational—it’s geopolitical.”
“SIG University is committed to transforming careers and elevating sourcing and risk management professionals into strategic business leaders,” said Dawn Tiura, CEO and President of SIG. “Through integrating the Tech Diplomacy Academy into our curriculum, we’re ensuring our members have the tools to navigate the global shifts reshaping procurement today—from emerging tech to supply chain risk and regulatory change.”
The curriculum complements and extends SIG University’s existing certifications, including the Certified Sourcing Professional (CSP) certification, Certified Sourcing Professional (CSP-India) for India certification, Certified Supplier Management Professional (CSMP), Certified Third-Party Risk Management Professional, and the recent Responsible AI Governance certifications. The Tech Diplomacy Academy adds value for both individual SIG learners and enterprise teams preparing for the future of procurement.
