Jim is a Founding Partner and Managing Director of CrimStone Partners, a private equity firm based in Dallas, Texas that partners with entrepreneurs, providing capital and advisory services to help accelerate the growth of their businesses.
A native of Orange, CA, Jim attended the U.S. Naval Academy, graduating in 1988 with a BS, with distinction, in Mathematics. He served 5 years on active duty as a Naval Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer, including a deployment to the Persian Gulf in 1992.
Upon leaving the Navy, Jim attended Harvard Business School and began his career as a management consultant with BCG. He subsequently held executive positions with Paging Network and Ericsson prior to founding CrimStone Partners.
From 2019-2021, Jim served at the Department of State as the Director (Assistant Secretary) of the Office of Management Strategy and Solutions, focused on business transformation and building data and analytics capabilities at the Department. He has been married for 32 years to his wife, Jacquelin. The couple has 3 children and resides in Dallas, Texas.
