Harris Diamond is the retired Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of McCann Worldgroup where he led a multidisciplinary marketing services organization with approximately 17,000 employees that created communications solutions for the world’s largest and best-known companies and brands in more than 100 countries.
Recognized widely for his achievements as a communications professional, Harris was named Advertising Age’s “Executive of the Year” and in the public relations field, he was named “PR Agency Executive of the Decade” by The Holmes Report. PR Week also named Harris one of “The 20 most influential communicators” of the past two decades and one of the “100 most influential PR people in the 20th Century.”
Harris’s civic involvements have encompassed the governmental, health and cultural arenas. He serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Ronald McDonald House of New York, which helps provide a home away from home for children being treated for serious illness; on the Board of Advisors of the Columbia University Medical Center; and as a Board member of the New York City Center, the performing arts venue. Harris is also the President of Temple Emanuel of New York City, one of the worlds leading reform synagogues. Harris has also served on advisory boards for the U.S. Government in the national security arena and was a long standing Board member of BENS. Harris also held industry positions as a board member of the U.S. Ad Council, has served on the Board of Directors of several public companies and was a past Chairman of the Council of Public Relations Firms.
Under his leadership, McCann Worldgroup won numerous accolades for its work including being named Network of the Year by the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Adweek magazine’s Global Agency Of The Year and was named the Most Creatively Effective Agency Network by the Effie Effectiveness Index for four straight years . In addition the company was named to Advertising Age’s “A-List” and was recognized by Fast Company as one of the Worlds Most Innovative Companies.
