Taro Aso is the former Prime Minister of Japan, serving from 2008 to 2009. Before his time as Prime Minister he held various positions in the Japanese government, including as the Minister of State, Economic and Fiscal Policy, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and as a Member of the House of Representatives, to which he was elected to14 times. After his tenure as Prime Minister he maintained positions as the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and the Minister of State for Financial Services until 2021. Currently, he is the Vice President of the Liberal-Democratic Party. Aso graduated from the Gakushuin University’s Faculty of Politics and Economics.
