We’re at the crest of a new wave of technologies that will deeply affect economies, societies, and the human condition. Whether those effects are positive or negative for human freedom is not predetermined. It’s therefore incumbent upon policymakers and innovators in the Free World to craft and adopt standards that ensure technology expands liberty.
Alex Wong’s career has spanned the realms of national security, international commerce, and U.S. politics. Alex was the Chairman of the U.S.-China Economic & Security Review Commission and he served in the U.S. Department of State as the Deputy Special Representative for North Korea. In that role, he was the number two negotiator in denuclearization talks with North Korea and he led the formulation and implementation of U.S. sanctions policy across multiple executive branch agencies. Prior to assuming his North Korea duties, Alex led the State Department’s efforts to implement the U.S. government’s Indo-Pacific Strategy as Deputy Assistant Secretary for East Asian & Pacific Affairs.
