Former Director General of Israel National Cyber Directorate, Cyber Security Strategist
Today, the most critical infrastructure to protect - is Democracy. It is too fragile and vulnerable from growing cyber threats as open liberal societies depend more than ever on digitization and on public opinion. We need to join forces and unite against forces who target this precious asset trying to undermine it.
Yigal Unna was appointed by Israel’s Prime Minister as the Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate in 2018. In a 4 years role, until 2022, Unna reported directly to the Prime Minister, responsible for all aspects of cyber security, including formulating policy and building technological power for operational defense of Israel. Mr. Unna forged long-term relationships with many foreign governments and lectured around the world on cybersecurity.
Prior to the INCD, Unna served in the Israel Security Agency also known as Shin Bet, for 23 years, retired as the Director of the Cyber and Sigint Operations Division (equivalent of major general). Overall, Mr. Unna served 33 years in Israel National security – all in cyber security and Data warfare.
Today Unna leads and advises leading and promising Israeli cyber startups and growing enterprises, a venture partner in VC focusing on cyber security, consulting to global VCs on cyber opportunities, and leading national cyber projects for foreign governments in, Asia (India in specific), Europe, Latin America and Africa. Mr. Unna is the president of Israel cyber campus, a leading cyber academy alongside Mr. Garry Kasparov, the world chess champion, and the president of ICE – Israel Cyber Enterprise, a Mexican based multiple solutions cyber security provider for Mexico and LATAM.
